Heathcote Botanical Gardens HEATHCOTE BOTANICAL GARDENS
The gift shop carries Debra's work. Heathcote Botanical Gardens, Inc. was established in 1985 by a group of citizens desiring to rescue a retired plant nursery from encroaching urbanization and transform it into a public garden facility. Within its boundaries existed numerous exotic plant species, mature native trees and shrubs, a Japanese Garden, outbuildings and a house originally constructed in 1922 that was moved to the site in 1967.

Pollinators are responsible for assisting over 80% of the world's flowering plants. Without them, humans and wildlife wouldn't have much to eat or look at! Animals that assist plants in their reproduction as pollinators include species of bats, butterflies, moths, flies, birds, beetles, ants, and bees.

Pollinators, almost all of which are insects, are indispensable partners for an estimated 1 out of every 3 mouthfuls of food, spices and condiments we eat, and the beverages we drink. They are essential to the fibers we use, the medicines that keep us healthy, and more than half of the world's diet of fats and oils. Insect pollinators, including honey bees, pollinate products amounting to $40 billion annually in the U.S. alone.
